SHILLONG, NOV 15: The Post Graduate Building of Synod College, Shillong was inaugurated today by Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma in the presence of Home Minister, James P K Sangma, Commerce and Industries Minister, Sniawbhalang Dhar, Principal of the college, Dr. D Wanswett, teachers and students among others.
During his brief address at the function, the Chief Minister spoke of his close association with the college through the years and lauded the efforts of the management towards uplifting the college to its present status.
Speaking on the various aspects of the education sector, the Chief Minister said that the government is giving top priority to education and considering the numerous challenges in the sector, a joint effort of all stakeholders including the government, policy makers, social organizations, teachers and students is required to push it to new heights.
The Chief Minister on the occasion expressed hope that Synod College would continue to contribute towards the growth of the state by producing young, enterprising, dynamic and responsible citizens in the state of Meghalaya in future.
