SHILLONG, SEPT 16: Meghalaya PHE minister Prestone Tynsong informed the assembly on Friday that the department will be in a position to clear the pending bills of over Rs 140 crore of contractors once funds are released by the centre. Replying to a query posed by opposition leader Donkupar Roy in the assembly, Tynsong informed that the centre is expected to release the instalment due in different ministries within this financial year.
According to him, the state will be getting Rs 7.62 crore under JNNURM and Rs 120 crore under NRDWP.
Earlier, the minister informed that Rs 146.33 crore pending bills are yet to be paid to the contractors in the state.
Out of this, Rs 8.23 crore in Simsanggre Division, Rs 4.74 crore – Tura Division, Rs 9.09 crore – Tura North Division, Rs 44.63 crore – Ampati Division, Rs 7.97 crore – Resubelpara, Rs 0.59 crore – Baghmara, Rs 7.19 crore – Nongpoh, Rs 5.18 crore – Umsning, Rs 1.87 – S&D Division, Rs 3.31 crore – Investigation Division, Rs 5.24 crore – Hills Division, Rs 2.27 crore – Sohra Division, Rs 0.57 crore – Electrical Division, Shillong, Rs 3.45 crore – Electrical Division, Mawphlang, Rs 1.24 crore – GSWS Division No.I, Shillong, Rs 2.05 crore – GSWS Division No II, Mawphlang, Rs 0.42 – Electrical Division, Jowai, RS 5.39 – RWS Division, Jowai, Rs 1.83 crore – Mairang Division, Rs 20.17 crore – Nongstoin Division, Rs 7.71 crore – Mawkyrwat Division and Rs 3.18 crore – Superintending Engineer (PHE) Tura Circle.
The minister also informed that based on the tentative allocation of fund by planning department, the amount of fund that will be available with the department during 2016-17 will be about Rs 154 crore.-By Our Reporter
