City girl found death in Kolkata

SHILLONG, AUG 16: Clara Khongsit, a resident of Shillong,who worked as a flight attendant, died after she allegedly fell from a third floor of a building in Kolkata on Tuesday night even as police have detained two persons.

The incident took place at Keshtopur in the northern fringes of Kolkata when Clara was attending a birthday party of her friend. She was working for a private budget airline. She was a student of Lady Keane College.

According to reports, the airhostess died under mysterious circumstances after she fell from a window of the building, where she attended the party.

Speaking to reporters here, Superintendent of Police (SP) of East Khasi Hills District Davis NR Marak said that the deceased was a resident of Upper Lumparing under Laban Police Station.

He however said that the state police is yet to get details of the incident as no information has come either from the relatives of the victim or the Kolkata police.

“But I have asked my officers in the Laban police station to find out on this,” Marak said.

Sources informed that the parents of Clara have immediately rushed to Kolkata after being informed about the tragic incident.

On contacting, a police officer from Kolkata informed that two persons – Clara’s friend and her boyfriend have been detained for questioning. According to him, the two are being interrogated to find out how did she fell from the third floor of the building.
