SHILLONG, MAY 29: Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma mourned the demise of Rev Fr Sylvanus Sngi Lyngdoh and said he will be fondly be remembered for his multi-facted personality who dedicated his life for bringing righteousness, enlightenment and prosperity to the people.
Sangma said Rev Fr Sngi contribution for the cause of education, literature and welfare of the Khasi community in particular and society in general remains incomparable.
The chief minister said that on behalf of his government he conveys his sincere and deepest condolence to the Salesians of Don Bosco family.
Late Rev Fr Sngi mortal remain will be taken from Mawlai parish to Laitumkhrah cathedral for catholic faithful to pay their last tribute before taking to the cemetery on Monday.
Thousands of people are expected to attend the funeral, the state police have also made traffic arrangements which be effective from 11 am onwards.-By Our Reporter
