SHILLONG, JAN 17: The state government on Monday deferred the proposal for relaxation of the upper age limit by five years for recruitment in government jobs.
Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said that the issue for extending the upper age limit for entering into government services was taken up during the meeting.
“However, the matter had to be deferred to the next cabinet as there are some issues which need further fine tuning,” he added.
When asked, the minister informed that the proposal is to relax the upper age limit by another five years.
“There are some reservations regarding uniform persons, we need more clarity so we have not approved the proposal, we decided to defer it to the next cabinet, which we will sit in the next few days,” he further stated.
