Budget session to begin from March 5

SHILLONG, FEB 15: The budget session of the tenth Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will be held from March 5 to 19.

The calendar for the upcoming session was approved during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) chaired by the Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh here on Monday.

Also present at the meeting were deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong and opposition member Ampareen Lyngdoh.

After the meeting, Lyngdoh told reporters that the BAC has finalized the calendar for the budget session to be held from March 5-19.

He said there will be eleven working days of which government business will be for seven days and private members’ business for four days.

Asked, the speaker said that the budget will be presented by the chief minister Conrad K Sangma on March 10.
