SHILLONG, FEB 19: The Budget Session of the tenth Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will begin from March 8 to 22.
The calendar for the Budget Session was approved by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) headed by the Assembly’s Speaker Donkupar Roy in a meeting held here on Tuesday, Commissioner & Secretary Andrew Simons informed in a statement.
There will be 10 working days of which 8 days have been allotted for government business while only 2 days for private members’ business, he said.
Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy will deliver his address on the first day of the budget session.
The budget estimates for the financial year 2019-2020 will be presented by the chief minister Conrad K Sangma on March 13 while the passing of the Budget will be taken up on March 22.
