SHILLONG, JAN 6: The BSF troop located at Bagli, in South West Khasi hills apprehended a Bangladesh national identified as Karim Sheikh (12) while he was trying to cross the international border from Bangladesh to India on January 3.
In another incident on the same day, troops deployed at Lailong in East Jaintia hills district also apprehended another Bangladeshi identified as Doynal Abdin (21) as he was also trying to cross the international border from India to Bangladesh.
During the last week the BSF troops deployed in various parts of Meghalaya border apprehended three Bangladesh nationals, two Indian nationals and seized 204 bottles of liquor, five cattle heads, forest produce and other contraband items worth over Rs. 2 lakhs from the arrested persons.
The arrested persons and seized items have been handed over to concerned state government department for further action. – By Our Reporter
