SHILLONG, JULY 8: BSF deployed at Baghmara in South Garo hills seized 920 nos of bamboo, 616.25Cft wooden logs and 11 tons of coal worth Rs. 22 lakhs that were being smuggled out to Bangladesh through Simsang river.After the incessant rainfall in Meghalaya, the increased water level in the rivers made smugglers to attempt smuggling through the rivers and nullahs. But the BSF troops keeping vigil foiled their attempt by making several seizures.
Similarly in Jatrakona, South Garo hills district the BSF 119 tons of coal and other contraband items worth over Rs.30 lakhs during the last two weeks.- By Our Reporter
