TURA, AUG 9: The BSF defeated its Bangladesh counterpart guarding the border BGB by 2 goals in a friendly football match played between the two on Monday in Mahenderganj in South West Garo hills district.
From BGB side, SK Moniruzzaman, Dy Director General of BGB led the team which included sector commander of Mymensingh along with five officers and other players . The BSF team was led by MS Rathore, DIG SHQ BSF Tura, five commandants and seven officers.
Around three thousand people from the area came to watch the friendly football match and enjoyed the game. BSF won the match by 2-0. These sporting events are organized as part of confidence building measures between the two friendly Border guarding forces.
DIG MS Rathore said, “This match symbolizes the ever-growing friendly relations between the two border guarding forces and our mutual concern for effective Border management”. These sporting events provide a platform for better understanding and co-operation down to the level of troops, which facilitates and foster spirit and a sense of belongingness.- From Our Correspondent
