SHILLONG, SEPT 6: The BJP state youth wing today demanded the immediate resignation of the chief minister Mukul Sangma and his cabinet ministers for allegedly neglecting the youths after 10 MBBS students were denied admission by Assam’s medical colleges.
“We demand the resignation of the chief minister and his cabinet colleagues on moral ground for they are liable for their negligible act to the youths of the state,” Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) chief Egenstar Kurkalang said in a statement issued here.
He said the state government is strongly condemned for its negligible attitude to pursue the matter as per the procedure which resulted to Assam Colleges denying admission to the youths from the state in MBBS course.
“This shows the negligence and incompetency of the State Government to run the administration in the State,” he said adding “This is an insult to the people of Meghalaya as a whole, especially to the students and the youths.”
Kurkalang also slammed the state government for being more concern to spent and make proper arrangement for festival and entertainment program than to provide the youths better education, career and employment.
