SHILLONG, APR 20: The Meghalaya Assembly today passed the Meghalaya Appropriation (No.II) Act, 2018 to allow the state government to spend Rs 14,276 crore from the Consolidated Fund of Meghalaya for defraying the several charges.
The Bill tabled by the chief minister Conrad K Sangma and passed in the Assembly which concluded here on Friday will come into force from April 1.
It states that the amount of Rs 14276, 88, 07,000 will be withdrawn from and out of the Consolidated Fund of Meghalaya for the financial year 2018-19, towards defraying the several charges which will come in course of payment during the financial year ending March 31, 2019.
The sums authorized to be withdrawn from and out of the Consolidated Fund of Meghalaya by this Act, shall be appropriated for the services and purposes expressed in the Schedule in relation to the said year, it added.
