SHILLONG, NOV 10: One Gabriel Kharshandi of Porla village was arrested by the police on Sunday on charges by attempting to rape a 5 years old girl. The incident took place nearby Porla Presbyterian church while the church service when Kharshandi who came to attended the church service, lured the minor girl to another place and attempted to rape her.
Luckily the minor girl escaped as some people who saw the incident apprehended him and later handed him to the police.
The KSU, Mawshynrut circle, condemned the attempt made by Kharshandi and urged the authority to punish the culprit and not allowed him for bail.
The KSU, Mawshynrut circle president Armstrong Sohshang informed that Kharshandi is a habitual criminal as he has many times committed such a crime that has send panic to the minor girls and women living in the area. Despite arresting him so many times, he is now released from jail and once again is terrorizing women-flock, he said.- By Our Reporter
