Shillong, Sept 26: An MLP constable Appy Pathaw posted in the main branch of the SBI sustained bullet injury when his rifles went off accidentally. The incident took place at around 7.30 am Wednesday.
The bank staff called the ambulance but when it did not arrived, the bank staff didn’t wait for the ambulance but took the injured constable to Shillong Civil hospital immediately. He was immediately operated.
According to bank sources, the constable is now out of danger. Had the constable not been rushed immediately to the hospital he would have been in a critical condition endangering his life. But the alert bank staff didn’t wait for the ambulance to come and instead rush him to the hospital in their vehicle, which might have saved his life. – By Our Reporter
