SHILLONG, SEPT 2: The Achik National Volunteer Council (ANVC-B) has given a call for a 12-hour ‘bandh’ in Garo Hills region on September 4 demanding the central government’s intervention and NIA/CBI inquiry against the alleged secret order of shoot at sight order which they claim has been issued the chief minister.
The Meghalaya CID, however, has filed an application in the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) seeking the court’s permission to take legal action against the ANVC(B) leaders for spreading such rumour against the chief minister.
Meanwhile the ANVC (B) political secretary Doang D Shira said the bandh will be effective in the five districts of Garo Hills from 5 am to 5 pm on September 4
“The bandh is being called to demand for immediate intervention of the centre government into the prevailing situation in Garo hills region,” Shira said adding “We also demand National Investigating Agency (NIA) or Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into ‘Secret Kill’ order issued by Chief Minister Mukul Sangma.”- By Our Reporter
