Shillong, August 30: The ANVC (B) has accused chief minister Mukul Sangma of protecting Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) chief executive member Purno K Sangma and his deputy and directing them not to resign.
ANVC (B) has demanded that Purno K Sangma and GHADC deputy CEM should resign from their post for indulging in corruption. The outfit had also asked people to wear black flag in support of their demand.
In a press statement issued Thursday, the ANVC(B) said that its “fear has come true as the GHADC CEM and some MDCs met chief minister Wednesday evening and the latter had directed the CEM not to resign and promised protection.”
The statement said that while corrupt are protect the people from Garo hills are discriminated and harassed for wearing black flag, which they described as “an act of suppression.”
ANVC (B) statement said that protesting corruption and injustice was “not worth fighting in a democratic way.” –By Our Reporter
