SHILLONG, OCT 21: An Indian army microlight aircraft crashed on Wednesday morning near Indian Air Force headquarters of the Eastern Air Command in Upper Shillong injuring two army officials and the pilot.

The aircraft belonging to the Army Aviation Corps crashed at the Meghalaya government Vetenary farm at Upper Shillong after it took off from the Advance Landing Ground of the Indian Air Force in Upper Shillong.

Defence ministry’s spokesperson Group Captain Amit Mahajan told this website that the aircraft and the two army personnel were on a routine training sortie when it crashed near a hillock. The two army personnel and the pilot however are safe and sustained some injuries.

Mahajan informed that the two army officials have been rushed to the hospital and are under observation.
Mahang also said that further investigations will be carried out to identify the cause of the accident that led to the crash.- By Our Reporter
