SHILLONG, JULY 30: An advertisement issued by the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) on behalf of the Meghalaya Forest department for wherein it said that the Bangladesh nationals with Indian citizenship certificate are eligible to apply for officers’ post in the forest department has irked the KSU and other ngos.
The KSU has asked for clarification from the MPSC.
The MPSC recently published an advertisement for recruitment of assistant conservator of Forest for residents of Meghalaya in which it indicated that Bangladesh nationals possessing Indian citizenship certificate are also eligible for the post.KSU general secretary Auguster Jyrwa told reporters after the meeting with MPSC officials on Tuesday, “This is intolerable and the government should clarify.”
Jyrwa informed that the MPSC secretary had justified saying that the advertisement had come from the forest department and hence it was published accordingly.
The advertisement had invited applications for filling up two posts of assistant conservator of forest.
The advertisement said, “Displaced persons from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) permanently residing in Meghalaya or intending to reside permanently, possessing Indian citizenship certificate may also apply.”
The KSU said it would write to the chief conservator of forest seeking clarification on the advertisement.- By Our Reporter
