TURA,AUG 19: A youth from Resubelpara, who was allegedly abducted by suspected militants, was released on Wednesday as the victims’ family paid the ransom, a laptop and printer, a delayed police report said today. Police suspect that William Sangma, chief of A’chik National Cooperative Army (ANCA) was behind the abduction. The outfit had demanded Rs. 15 lakh for the youth’s release. However, later they scaled down the ransom amount.
The youth was abducted on August 11, while he was on his way to market from his residence.-From Our Correspondent
