As part of its mission to promote digital health services across the state, the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, Meghalaya has launched the ABDM Scan & Share and eHospital (NEXTGEN) at Ampati Civil Hospital taking a significant step towards advancing health care services to the people of South West Garo Hills.
The system was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ampati, Y. W. Momin, who graced the occasion in the presence of Dr. Denisha Momin, Medical Superintendent, Ampati Civil Hospital, Enoch A. Sangma, Scientist, NIC, Meghalaya, Dr. Suparna Hajong, SDMHO, Sandy Osmond Khongmawpat, State Programme Coordinator along with the team of ABDM, Dr. T.N.Sangma, District Nodal Officer, ABDM, NIC district team, other district officials and the hospital staff.
During the inaugural session, the ABDM team led Sandy Osmond Khongmawpat, ABDM State Programme Coordinator conducted live demonstration on implementation of Scan & Share which is a QR based solution introduced by National Health Authority through ABDM in empanelled health facilities. This solution helps in dealing with each patient seamlessly by enabling them to scan QR code and share their demographic data with consent and streamline the registration process minimizing queues during peak OPD registration hours bringing new experience to the patients.
A brief orientation session was held at the Hospital conference hall, where Enoch Sangma in his presentation explained the basic features and modules of eHospital. The eHospital facility has been introduced in seven of the public hospitals in Meghalaya and Ampati Civil Hospital is the second hospital in Garo Hills to implement Scan & Share and eHospital (NEXTGEN) after Tura Civil Hospital. As South West Garo Hills has covered approximately 80,000 ABHA registration ABDM has selected Ampati civil hospital for launching of this system. Initially the system will be applied only for the registration process, it was informed.
It may be mentioned here that Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) is a unique identity for beneficiary’s health with a 14-digit random number that acts as a health record identifier that helps in minimizing prescription and clinical errors. ABHA registration in South West Garo Hills district was started in November last year.
ADC YW Momin applauded the Health department and ABDM for coming up with such a citizen-centric system for the people of the district and called for concerted efforts of all concerned to educate the people about e-Hospital to create optimal health care experience for all.
Dr. Denisha Momin underlined the importance of Information Technology in health care management system and expressed her pride on the launch of Scan & Share and eHospital system at Ampati Civil Hospital. She hailed this achievement as a historic milestone for the medical fraternity and people of the district as a whole.
