SHILLONG, DEC 4: As part of its initiative of reaching out beyond the call of duty, the 6th Meghalaya Police Battalion on Friday organized its fourth day of blanket distribution at Umran Dairy village in Ri Bhoi district.
The dorbar shnong led by its headman Lambor Mukhim Bina along with members of the village took active part in the programme.
Encouraged by the action of the 6th MLP BN where 3 villages were already covered since December 1, the dorbar shnong of Umran Dairy also distributed blankets from their side to the members of the village.
It was decided in the meeting that the 50 blankets distributed by the 6th MLP BN were presented to the male members of the village and 100 blankets arranged by the dorbar shonng were presented to the female members of the village.
As a mark of appreciation and gratitude to the COVID-19 warriors working in the village, 5 Anganwadi and Asha workers were also felicitated and also presented with blankets on the occasion.
Those who spoke at the meeting include R Rapsang, head assistant in the office of the Commandant 6th MLP BN, headman of the village and others.
