SHILLONG, NOV 3: Four persons were arrested on Thursday for their alleged involvement in the violent attack on innocent people during a rally over unemployment called by the FKJGP on October 28.
Informing this, East Khasi Hills SP S Nongtnger said, “…after identifying the culprits, police conducted several raids on the intervening night of November 2 and November 3 in East Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi and arrested four persons directly involved in the assaults while others have fled to evade arrest.”
He said that the arrested persons will be produced in court in connection with the cases registered in Laitumkhrah police station and Sadar police station.
“Efforts are on by the district police to arrest all those involved in the assaults,” the SP said.
Earlier, FKJGP general secretary Eldie Lyngdoh was also summoned by the Sadar police station after six cases were registered against him.
