JOWAI, AUG 4: West Jaintia Hills police have arrested three men in connection with the alleged murder of 28-year-old El Dameshuliuh of Luti Tuber, Ialong, whose body was found at Khilehrat, East Jaintia Hills on July 31.
The breakthrough came after Gumrah Police in Cachar, Assam detained a Maruti Alto K10 registered to the deceased, along with two occupants, on July 31.
A team from West Jaintia Hills brought the vehicle and the duo to Meghalaya for questioning.
Based on the probe, police arrested Dapdangkmen Paslein, 26, of Laskein and Samuel Iakai, 25, of Umkyrpong.
A third accused, Dunivankmen Sutnga, 26, of Okhaidong was picked up on August 4.
All three have been produced in court and an FIR has been registered at Jowai PS under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Police thanked Gumrah Police for their assistance and urged the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity on helpline 112.
