25 students missed board exams due to bad weather, Govt to decide on re-examination

SHILLONG, APR 5: As many as 25 students have missed their board examinations due to heavy rainfall which triggered numerous incidents of landslides in the different parts of the state.

Of these, 22 are students appearing for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination and 3 for the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC), official sources informed on Tuesday.

The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) is yet to decide on conducting re-examination for such students, they said.

Speaking to reporters, Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said that the department is aware of reports that some of the students have missed their exams yesterday because of heavy rainfall which has affected many roads in the state.

“The department will seek a report and will do what is necessary so that students will not be at a loss due to rain which plays havoc in the state of Meghalaya,” he said while informing that the department will take a decision on the matter within a day or two.
