SHILLONG, JAN 6: The state has recorded 19 new COVID-19 cases, adding up to 154 active cases on Wednesday.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said the new cases included 12 in East Khasi Hills district, 6 in West Jaintia Hills district and 1 in Ri Bhoi district.
According to him, all the 6 positive cases detected in West Jaintia Hills district are from Psiar cluster along the inter-state border with Assam.
He informed that 14 more persons have also recovered from COVID-19, taking the number of recoveries from the viral infection to 13,230.
The 14 recoveries recorded today include 11 from East Khasi Hills, 2 from South West Garo Hills and 1 from West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 13,525 COVID-19 cases out of which 154 are active cases, 13,230 recovered and 141 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has 116 active cases, Ri Bhoi 13, West Jaintia Hills 9, West Garo Hills 8, West Khasi Hills 3, East Jaintia Hills 2, East Garo Hills 1, South Garo Hills 1, North Garo Hills 1.
On the other hand, of the 3,01,969 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 2,88,444 were tested negative for the virus even as 56 persons are in institutional quarantine and 88 under home quarantine.
There are 77,272 entrants from outside the state.
