TURA, MAY 7: It is moment of pride for the state and Garo hills as twelve years old are bringing laurel to the state in the field of Table Tennis (TT). The boy and girl duo, both incidentally twelve years old, are undergoing training in China.
Chesan Ch. Marak and Netra Dechiga S. Sangma from Tura are presently undergoing training at Hebei Zhengding International training centre, China. They are representing India, along with 11 others who have been chosen from across the country.
China is known for its table tennis skills and is considered a giant in this sporting field.
Chesan and Netra were ranked No. 1 in the state last year in the cadet category and have represented Meghalaya in the national and inter-state tournaments.
Chesan son of Johnny A Sangma and Chechi Ch. Marak is a class VIII student of Don Bosco Secondary School, whereas Netra is daughter of Balnang R Sangma and Sunita S. Sangma, a class VIII student of Tura
