SHILLONG, SEPT 28: Elementary school teachers on Wednesday served 10-day deadline to the NIOS and DERT to rectify the anomalies and declare fresh results of the Diploma in Elementary Education (DELED)’s 1st batch 2013-14. They have also threatened to seek court’s intervention into the discrepancies with regards to the centrally sponsored training programme aimed at equipping the state with trained teachers for ‘better’ and ‘quality’ education.
The decision was taken after the officials of the NIOS and DERT sought time from the delegation representing the aggrieved teachers which took out a surprise black flag march to the office at Laitumkrah-Nongrimmaw on Wednesday.
There has been protest from the teaching community after the recently announced result of 2-year D.EL.ED teaching training course was found to be full of anomalies.
The teachers have alleged that result was incomplete as most of the internal marks were not included in the marksheets besides candidates were marked “absent” in some subjects despite appearing in the examination. Some have even scored more than the full mark.-By Our Reporter
