To reach this bench mark in the first phase, Kharkrang informed, “We have opened traffic branches with traffic control room in all the Police Stations of the city, like Women Police Station in Sadar PS a deployment of women Police officers and staff have been added to all Police Stations who will take up all women related crime and issues.”

Once CCTV coverage is expanded separate CCTV control rooms will also be set up in other Police Station, he said adding “We have set Sadar Police Station as a bench mark for other Police Stations though at a lower scale.”

Stating that police stations symbolize the presence of the Police organisation in the community, and provides an assurance of security to the people in general, he said that the public can rest at ease believing that there is a place that provides safety, security, relief, help and assistance to them in their hour of need.

He also said that the Police Station is the basic and most important unit of Police administration in India as it is the platform for interaction between the community and the Police.
