Shullai is one amongst those politicians named in the CBI report on the irregular appointment of assistant lower primary teachers. He  said, “ To me it is not illegal to help those job aspirants who seeks our help as it is our duty to only to recommend their names.”  He said to call the representatives who recommends name of jobseeker “tainted” is not right saying,, “I strongly protest against those who have termed the action as ‘tainted’.”

Shullai candidly said, “Since 1994 when I was first elected as public representative, people from my constituency have come forward requesting me to help them in term of jobs by recommending their names.” He was of the opinion if recommending the names of candidates are “illegal”, then the law should have taken actions against all public representatives”

Shullai said if it is illegal to recommend then the concern authority should start issuing notifications to all public representatives that doing such thing is illegal and against the law. –By Our Reporter
