TURA, SEPT 22: With the security forces intensifying its operation against the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) in Garo hills, the militant outfit has called for a two-day bandh in Garo hills from September 25 demanding a halt to counter-insurgency operations in South West Garo hills district.
The security forces intensified operations following the killing of two including that of a woman in Garobadha area under the South West Garo hills district recently.
South West Garo hills district SP R Muthu said, “Operations against the militant outfit have been intensified as their activities have increased in the area. Earlier such incidents were minimal.”
Even as the two persons were killed one was seriously injured at Oidoba in Garobadha.
The GNLA has allegedly been sending demand notes tomany people .The increased police vigil has resulted in a lot of arrests of people either directly or indirectly related to the GNLA, police said.-By Our Reporter
