UDP leader joins BJP

SHILLONG, MAR 22: In a boost to the Bhartya Janata Party (BJP), Meghalaya unit just before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, prominent United Democratic Party (UDP) leader of  Mawryngkneng block David Kharsati along  with his  supporters joined the state unit of the BJP on Saturday.

A meeting was also held in the BJP office to welcome the new entrants into the party and the new members expressed their happiness to become the part of the Meghalaya unit of BJP.

Speaking during the meeting, BJP Meghalaya unit president Khlur Sing Lyngdoh welcomed the new members into the party fold and urged them to work for ensuring the party’s victory for  the Shillong seat in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections

Lyngdoh also said that the party will definitely win more than 272 seats in the Lok Sabha elections under the guidance of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Former BJP state president HS Syimelieh also said that the Modi wave is gripping the entire state and the party would surely win the Lok Sabha election from Shillong seat. He asked the party workers to work towards strengthening the party at grass root level and connect themselves with the common men.

BJP general secretary Dipayan Chakraborty also told the gathering that the BJP state unit is fully prepared to contest the election and added that days are not far when BJP ruled government under the leadership of Narendra Modi will be form the government in the national capital.

David Kharsati who began a new political career with the state BJP while addressing the meeting said that there is a rampant corruption in the country and BJP is the only party who acts against this menace.

David Kharsati who is a former member of the District Council said that the regional  parties lacks quality leadership whereas BJP has a strong leader like Narendra Modi who has all the capability to take the country forward

Party functionaries and workers were also present during the meeting and strategies were also chalked for the Shillong seat in the forthcoming election.- By Our Reporter
