SHILLONG, OCT 18: Over two thousands class XII students from West Garo hills district were given a tablet computer each under the Digital Learning Aid for Students Scheme. The tablets were distributed by chief minister Mukul Sangma, at a gathering at Chandmary playground on Friday.
These tablet PCs are pre-loaded with class XII study materials of MBOSE and CBSE and also sample question papers for engineering and medical entrance examinations and classroom teaching format video and audio books. The PCs are Wi-Fi enabled so that the students can have unlimited access to study materials across the globe.
Meghalaya is the only state which has come up with such a scheme of providing digital learning aids to the students.. Sangma also informed that the government has taken further step to make the school classrooms Wi-Fi enabled.
Sports & youth affairs minister Zenith Sangma, parliamentary secretary Noverfield R. Marak and West Garo hills deputy commissioner Pravin Bakshi were also present on the occasion.- By Our Reporter
