The role, functions and duties of the owners/promoters/concerned company shall broadly be to ensure that all people employed in management of hotels, Guest houses and Resorts are free from criminal records, bio-data with photograph of all employees to be maintained and send to the concerned Police Station and also to maintain such record properly and provide the same to Police within short notice, details of all customers staying in the Hotels, Guest houses and Resorts to be sent to the PS daily under the signature of the owner or in his absence any other person duly authorized by him. The CCTV status needs to be reflected in the daily report and in case it is not functioning due to technical snag, the same needs to be mentioned and the efforts taken to get the same rectified. The CCTV footage after compilation for a period of one month needs to be converted in CD’s and given to the PS for record and usage in case there is no back up for a longer period. Photos of all visitors need to be taken at the time of check in and send on daily basis to the Police Station, identity proof of all staffs with their name should be worn while on duty, sufficient well trained Private Securities Personnel should be engaged by the management from the registered Private Securities Agencies, no one is allotted rooms without any identity proof, no drink should be served inside the Hotels unless Bar license has been obtained issued by the competent authority, cleanliness and hygiene should be maintained, segregation of areas for smoking and non-smoking. No juveniles as defined in the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, shall be given accommodation unless the same is verified by the concerned Police Station. No illegal activities as defined in POCSO/Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and other Acts prevalent shall be carried out in the hotel, guest houses and Resorts and no occupants shall be allowed to use the hotels for residential purposes and reside for a long period of time.
Anyone found violating the aforesaid instructions may be arrested and on conviction by a court of law, shall be liable to a fine of Rs. 5000/- as per Section 102 of the Meghalaya Police Act, 2010. This Order shall be applicable with immediate effect.
