Shillong, Dec 6: The Shillong branch of State Bank of India (SBI) assistant general manager Manoj Mehrotra was awarded the “excellence performance promoting Self Service Kiosk (SSK) in Hyderabad last month by the SBI deputy managing director RK Saraf.The award was given as the SBI Shillong branch had an excellent performance for having the highest customers’ user of the SSK service in the country which is provided in the branch office in MG Road. Only in the month of October, the Shillong branch of the SBI had around 6,300 SSK users, which is the highest in any SBI branches in the country.
The SSK helps account users of the SBI to update their passbook, transfer of fund and requisition for issuing of cheque book.
The kiosk does all the update automatically without any manual help. Moreover, as the update are done very fast customers do not have to stand in a long queue to get their passbook update like before when they had to wait for hour for the manual update of their passbook. Earlier before the introduction of the kiosk if the queue was long, the customer even had to come the next day to get their passbook update.-By Our Reporter
