SHILLONG, MAY 1: After being crowned as Mrs India Universal – 2017, Sabina Parvez Warjri from Shillong now is all set to represent the country in the upcoming “Mrs Universal”, an international mega beauty pageant, which will be held in London from September 3 to 10.
Warjri, a former Miss Shillong in 1995, was the lone contestant from Meghalaya to compete for the title of Mrs India Universal, 2017 held in Gurgoan on April 25.
“I am going to be the first to represent the state and the country at an international platform for Mrs Universal,” she said while informing that she would be competing with other women from at least 30-40 countries.
Warjri’s aspiration to compete for the prestigious Miss India however remained just as a dream when she got married and was blessed with two daughters.
Not giving up on her dreams, she said, “However I decided to take this opportunity and participate in the Mrs India Universal… I could do this with the support of my family especially my husband.”
She said that the grooming she has got during the just concluded beauty pageant has develop her into a more confident women. Warjri is an entrepreneur by profession.
Asked, the Mrs India Universal winner said that the role of the state government is also needed to promote talents from the state. “We have so much talents and I request the government to promote our girls as we lack in nothing,” she said.
Stating that she would want to be a role model for women in the state, Warjri said when she can do it, everybody can as well. Just leave the kitchen for sometimes and realize your dream, she said.
