SHILLONG, JAN 5: Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma said the NDA-led-government at the centre should ‘practice what it preached’ if it is concern about the welfare of the north east region.
“People have to practice what they preached… If the NDA government is saying that they are concern about the welfare of the people of the north east who deserves more attention from the Government of India, it should commensurate with their actions,” Sangma told reporters.
According to Sangma if their action does not commensurate, then it remains a rhetoric…
During the 63rd Plenary of the North Eastern Council (NEC) Sangma had expressed his concern over the ‘inadequate’ and slow release of funds by the centre for implementation of projects in the region.
The plenary was also attended by the DoNER minister Dr Jitendra Singh.
Sangma said that the leaders of the region had expressed their concerns and he hoped it will draw the attention of the concerned people in Delhi. He further said, “Our job is to draw their attention to tell them that look you are saying something but your action does not commensurate to what you say…”-By Our Reporter
