Pa Togan remembered on his death anniversary

SHILLONG, DEC 12: The 146^th. Death Anniversary of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma was celebrated at Chisobibra cenotaph with Williamnagar MLA and Govt. Chief Whip, Marcuise N Marak as the chief guest on 12 December, 2018.

Speaking on the occasion, Williamnagar MLA and the Govt. Chief Whip, Marcuise N Marak recalled the contributions of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma towards the freedom of Garo people from the British rule and urged the Garo people to fight against social invasion in the interest of the society.

The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), Dipul R Marak, asked the gathering to disseminate the life history of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma  to the younger generation for the cause of Garo people.

The East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, L Ch Marak, said that Pa Togan Sangma was really a great warrior who fought for the freedom of Garo people.

The others who spoke on the occasion included Baghmara MDC, Sengnal Sangma, former CEM, Denang T Sangma, ADC, A Ch Marak, BDO Rongjeng, SN Sangma and Samanda BDO, PK Sangma.
