NPP opens block office

SHILLONG, SEPT 1: National People’s Party (NPP) East Khasi Hills District president JS Kurbah today inaugurated the Mawsynram Block Committee office.

The felicitation programme for the appointment of the office bearers was also held during the meeting which was attended by a wave of supporters.

Don Marbaniang was appointed as the Block President, Mithun Hajong as the Vice President and Bimol Thabah as the Block General Secretary.

Addressing on the occasion, Kurbah spoke passionately of the NPP ethos which was to bring about development to Mawsynram Constituency through even distribution of schemes to individuals in the constituency.

Also present at the inauguration was the organizer from Masynram Constituency, Laplu M Sangma.

In his speech, Sangma urged the public to come together and support the party. He also mentioned that with hard work the party would thrive in Mawsynram Constituency.

Another senior leader of the party Babeth Sangma also stressed on the need for the state to move ahead and catch up with other states in the country in terms of economic development and job employment opportunities.
