SHILLONG, JAN 5: The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has informed that the National Green Tribunal, Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata has issued an instructions that all service providers letting out audio systems are required to fit the systems with sound limiters to limit emission of sound to the permissible decibel and should be subjected to inspection by the Police authorities and the State Pollution Control Board as per law. Further, licences for letting out the audio systems shall apply an additional condition that no audio system shall be let out without being fitted with sound limiter, the condition for use of sound limiter shall be applicable for all government and political functions as well and all shops dealing with sale of public audio systems.
