Children of SOS village, Neelam tie rakhi to Meghalaya Governor in Raj Bhavan

SHILLONG, AUG 30: A heart-warming celebration of Raksha Bandhan unfolded at Raj Bhavan, Shillong as ten children and two mothers from SOS Children’s Village Shillong met the Governor of Meghalaya, Phagu Chauhan, at Raj Bhavan, Shillong.

This special occasion was marked by the tying of sacred Rakhis, symbolizing bonds of love, protection, and unity.

Raksha Bandhan is one of India’s most cherished festivals and signifies the deep connection between siblings.

In a heartening departure from tradition, this year’s celebration expanded its horizons as the children from SOS Children’s Village extended their affection and respect to a leader who plays a pivotal role in the state.

The Governor Phagu Chauhan, graciously accepted the Rakhis, underlining his commitment to the people he represents.

This gesture of unity and goodwill exemplified the essence of the festival, which transcends familial boundaries.

Meanwhile, BK Neelam, In-charge of Brahmakumaris, Shillong Centre, along with other members of the organization also paid a visit to the Governor.

During this special occasion, Neelam tied a sacred Rakhi on the Governor’s wrist, symbolizing the bonds of protection and love.
