Miscreants set ablaze police gypsy in Shillong

A police gypsy was set ablaze by miscreants at Mawlai on Wednesday morning.

The incident took place at around 2.40 am, police said.

Five unknown miscreants entered inside the parking campus of Mawlai police station and hurled petrol bomb on a police gypsy vehicle (ML 02 0194) as a result of which the vehicle caught fire and suffered major damage, East Khasi Hills SP Rituraj Ravi said.

A case has been registered with the Mawlai police station. The SP said that investigation is on to nab the culprits behind the incident.
