SHILLONG, MAR 11: The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) has demanded termination of illegal backdoor appointment in the Social & Water Conservation department and District Industrial Centre located in Jowai.
JSU president Rikut N Parien submitted a letter on Monday to the West Jaintia hills deputy commissioner Peter Dkhar wherein he said such illegal appointments in government departments will discourage youths looking for jobs.
In the letter Parien said, “We demand all illegal appointees made by the two departments in the form of 3F appointment, ad hoc and contract basis should be terminated immediately”
Parien felt the illegal appointments discouraging thousands of unemployed youths who are running from pillar to post in search for government jobs.
The JSU also demanded that the state government must follow free and fair system by advertising and calling for interview for vacant posts even if they need to make urgent appointments so that all the unemployed youths will have a fair chance to take a shot.
“If the departments failed to do so, we would be compelled to demand the government to dissolve the District Selection Committee (DSC),” Parein added. – By Our Reporter
