The different problems faced by the people in the border villages – Huroi, Hingaria, Lejri and Lailong especially with regards to the bad and pathetic condition of the Borkhat-Sonapur road and the absence of public health centres in the villages were highlighted during the meeting.
“He (governor) has assured us that speedy action will be taken and that he will treat this matter as a top priority and will do all possible action to help the villagers. He also assured us that he will also talk and write to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya on the matter,” Raja Suchen, who led the delegation, said after the meeting.
He also informed that the governor also summoned the officials of the North Eastern Council, PWD(R) and even the chief secretary and expressed his concerns over the problems faced by the villagers of these border villages.
