SHILLONG, NOV 16: The Pro-Am event of the Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Open Golf 2014 played at the Shillong Golf Course on Saturday was won by professional C Muniyappa’s team.
The Pro-Am was played in the team scramble format where the team’s best ball was chosen on every shot including the putting green. After the best ball was chosen all other players were to place their ball within one club length before continuing play.
Bangalore professional C Muniyappa led his team to victory with a score of 50.6. Muniyappa’s team comprised of amateurs Col. Rajiv Krishan, Mr. Kalyan Sahoo and Mr. Nikhil Choudhury.
Delhi professional Naman Dawar’s team was second with a score of 52.4. Dawar’s team comprised of amateurs Kaushik Barua, Michael Hek and Rohit Arora.
Bangalore professional Khalin Joshi’s team finished third with a score of 53.6. Joshi’s team comprised of amateurs Master Lakshya Bajaj, A Singhania and Paul Syiem.
The prize for the closest shot to the pin on hole no. 12 went to Mr. Michael Hek who landed it five feet and 10 inches from the pin. The prize for the closest shot to the pin on hole no. 3 was won by Gp. Capt. S Datta who landed it within 26 feet and 11 inches from the pin.
The prize for the straightest drive on hole no. 11 was won by Akid Zaman.
The prize for the longest drive on hole no. 6 was won by Gino A Sangma who landed his drive at a distance of 320 yards.- By Our Reporter
