TURA, AUG 18: Under pressure because of police operations in South Garo hills four GNLA militants surrendered before SP on Tuesday. They had run away from the general camp which was busted in Dabalgre by the police and under duress contacted the district police through church leaders for surrender. They submitted their GNLA ID Cards.
On further leads a team from Tura police recovered a carbine, magazine and ammunition belonging to them which they had left behind in a village.
The cadres who surrendered are:
1. Richard Ch Sangma @ Sanja, 20 Yrs. from Jetragre, Chokpot, SGH
2. Elan Ch Sangma @ Abreng, 22 Yrs from Tura Rongkhon Songittal, WGH
3. Kalseng Ch Marak @ Molot, 23 Yrs from Asanang, WGH
4. Teman M Sangma @ Chandra, 28 Yrs. from Mandalgre Nokat, EGH
Further, a civilian cadre of GNLA fearing arrest turned up yesterday and surrendered at Baghmara. His name Chisrangba Ch Marak, 25 Yrs from Pharomgre, SGH
The surrendered cadres informed that Sohan has confined his cadres under threat of death, snatched away their mobile phones and completely cut them off from all communications and contact with their friends, families and beloved ones.-From Our Correspondent
