TURA, OCT 16: In a tragic incident, a father accidently shot his eight year old son, critically injuring him at Dagalgre village, near Chokpot in South Garo hills. Police said that the father was cleaning his gun, when the incident took place. The father identified as Alas R. Sangma has been absconding after the incident.
Police informed that the gun was unlicensed, indicating that the father could be a member of a militant outfit or an over-ground worker.”The incident took place yesterday at about 7:30 pm”, informed a police official.
The matter was reported to the police on Thursday at 12:30 pm at Chokpot police station. The minor boy is undergoing treatment at Tura civil hospital. Police are investigating into the matter.- From Our Correspondent
