SHILLONG, DEC 30: The book – ’Na U Kpa Sha U Khun ( From the Father to the Son) which was compiled and edited by the legendary U Soso Tham granddaughter Alvareen D Dkhar was released at a function recently.
The book is a collection of letters from Soso Tham to his son portraying their relationship of intellectual excellence.
During her opening remark Alvareen D Dkhar narrated at length about her encounter with her father U Primrose Greenhill Gatphoh, while she still did not have any knowledge about the letters. She said after the death of her father she found the letters stacked in a bounded register, which she treasured.
Subsequently, Dkhar broached to her brother and sister on the need to publish the letters and her siblings encouraged her to take of the letters and find ways to bring out in a book form.
While Alvareen D Dkhar had gone through the letters, she thought of conceptualizing the publication. However, after reading for a number of times she was reluctant to meddle because of the magnitude of her grandfather’s literary pieces.
