SHILLONG, MAR 2: Jana Batnanova came all the way from Europe to Shillong to trained thirty students during a three day “Art Workshop” slated to begin from March 5-7. The artist from Slovakia told reporters on Monday, “The main idea of workshop is to allow students to experience new technique of art which include accidental art and experiment art.”
Batnanova said the training is also to allow young children to explore new way of painting. Earlier, she had held similar workshops in Assam after she landed in India three years ago.
The workshop is being jointly organized by the Shillong Public School, RS Academy and Riti Akademy. “From the school point of view, we want to inculcate the real meaning of art in the young students,” Shillong Public School principal Arron Warjri said.
According to Warjri, at present art is merely drawing which is being done in school where the real talent of children is not allowed to be nurtured. He said thirty children coming from the different schools in the city will take part in the workshop. He said through this workshop they want to encourage other schools to take up art seriously.- By Our Reporter
