Army commander visit

SHILLONG, JAN 8: Lieutenant General Praveen Bakshi, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding in Chief   Eastern Command arrived in Shillong on a two day to visit 101 Area.  He was received by Lieutenant General SP Nawathe GOC 101 Area.

During his visit to headquarters 101 Area, the army commander was given a detailed briefing on the operational logistics preparedness of the formation, security status and measures taken by the formation to ensure cyber security.

The army commander evinced particular interest in the welfare of Army Veterans, the efficacy of ECHS (Ex Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme), various administrative steps taken to improve the quality of life of the soldiers and their dependents.

The army commander also called on Governor V Shanmuganathan at the Raj Bhavan. In his interaction, the army commander discussed several issues including the prevailing security situation in Meghalaya and developmental issues pertaining to the region.-By Our Reporter
