SHILLONG, MAY 27: The Garo hill based ANVC( B )decided to donate blood to the blood bank even as it expressed its determination to come to mainstream hoping that the final settlement of the tripartite agreement between the state government, central government and the militant outfits will go a long way in mending and building the society
The ANVC(B) communiqué released to the media on Monday said, “The government and ngos should not worry about ANVC(B).We are not killers and we will not take law into our hands. We are determined to come to the mainstream and with the final settlement we hope to mend and build our society, especially at the grass root level.”
The communiqué said the ANVC(B) anticipations are high as the tripartite agreement that they have signed is about to bring mass change in terms of development to the people, which will help the state to grow.
Saying that the hospital requires not less than 200 units of blood per month, the ANVC(B) said, “We decided to donate our bloods to suffice the requirements of blood banks in the hospitals of Garo hills.”
Spelling out its future social activities, the ANVC (B) said it would also conduct cleaning drives on the streams and plant trees at various places and volunteers to give free coaching classes to under-privileged children from the surrounding villages including sports, music and various competitive games for the youths.
The ANVC (B ) expressed its disappointment at the failure of the state home minister Roshan Warjri to visit their camps when she was on tour of Garo hills. The communiqué said, “We wanted her to see how we were living in our camps and the situation on the ground. We anticipated her visit for days but for some reason she did not come.”
The ANVC (B) also expressed its concern over the influx and population imbalance in Garo Hills.- By Our Reporter
